How does ChatBrat memory actually work?
Before each reply, ChatBrat combines the recent conversation with structured memory: summaries of earlier parts of the chat, the identity details you've shared, and a few saved facts, from this chat or your other chats with the same character, that connect to what you just said. It does not send every past conversation back to the model, and it does not paste every saved fact into every reply.
The two layers do different jobs. Recent conversation keeps the scene you are in right now. Structured memory carries what happened before it. Memory adds to the recent conversation; it does not replace it.

The last row matters most if you come back. Start a new chat with a character you already know, mention the dog you told them about last month, and that detail can come back. This memory is scoped to the character and your own chats, so another user's conversation with the same character isn't included in your memory.
After each reply, ChatBrat decides what is worth keeping. Clear personal details, such as your name, a pet or your city, are saved by simple rules on the same turn. Other facts are saved when a turn carries real information; greetings and small talk are skipped.
The trade-off is real. Memory is selective, so ChatBrat does not remember everything. A detail that was never saved, and has scrolled out of the recent conversation, can only come back through a summary. Guest chats work from the current conversation alone: the character can pick up details you mention in that chat, but nothing is saved, no summaries are written, and the history lives in your browser.
